Job Description

CNA/Recreational Therapist at Providence Health and Services summary:

The CNA/Recreational Therapist provides therapeutic and recreational activities tailored to individual client needs, coordinating group events and supervising volunteers or assistants. This role supports patient-centered care in a healthcare facility, primarily working part-time hours on Thursdays through Saturdays. The position requires relevant education or experience in human services and certification as a recreational therapist.

Description

This position will be working on Thursdays 12pm-4pm, Fridays and Saturdays 9am-5:30pm.

This position provides a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional events for clients. Conducts individual assessment to identify the clients' individual interests/needs. Develops and implements an appropriate variety of individual and group activities. Participates in interdisciplinary planning. Coordinates recreation documentation for her/his assigned group of clients. Assists with training and supervising assigned volunteers and/or youth job program assistants/student interns and their activities. Leads facility wide client-directed events.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree. Two-year college courses in Human Services or significant appropriate and relevant years of work experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Washington Recreational Therapist Registration upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy.
  • 1 year of providing recreation in the human services field.
  • 1 year of providing recreation in the human services field with the elderly or disabled.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
