Overview

More than a Do It Yourself Fundraiser, Do What You Love to End ALZ (formerly The Longest Day) is a signature event of the Alzheimers Association and one of the fastest growing campaigns in its kind. Do What You Love to End ALZ leads the peer-to-peer fundraising space with innovation and creativity, engaging new audiences in the fight to end Alzheimers across diverse activity groups from community hikes to corporate golf tournaments.

As exclusive manager of Do What You Love to End ALZ in your community, you will utilize networking and relationship-building skills to identify and cultivate key community connections, corporate partnerships and new audiences that drive campaign success. You will recruit, train, coach and inspire your Volunteer Committee and Executive Leadership Team to recruit and coach participants to achieve fundraising and event planning goals. This position is based in Oklahoma City and covers the Oklahoma chapter territory.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and sustain corporate and community relationships that contribute to achieving event revenue goals and increase brand awareness
  • Recruit, manage and coach volunteer committees to implement best practices that propel fundraising success
  • Coach and inspire individuals and teams to set and reach revenue goals
  • Identify, recruit and engage new companies and activity-based groups in the community
  • Manage volunteer-led events that drive year?over?year revenue growth
  • Foster a positive, inclusive team environment that supports long-term community and volunteer relationships
  • Meet or exceed designated financial and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation and partnerships
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 35 years of proven experience in volunteer committee development
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Creatively build community growth strategies for campaign expansion, focusing on target markets such as golf, hiking, livestreaming and pickleball
  • Execute plans with the Volunteer Committee and Executive Leadership Team to recruit and retain past participants with best practices and excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to form and cultivate sustainable corporate relationships and partnerships
  • Network year?round to recruit and retain volunteers, companies, organizations and activity groups
  • Create engaging community outreach activities that promote the Alzheimers Associations mission, including community presentations, networking events and corporate engagement opportunities
  • Maintain year?round relationships with National Team partners and constituents to ensure involvement in chapter activities and recognition opportunities
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by car; travel may involve time away from the office for community work
  • Occasional overnight or air travel may be required; valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance are required
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 25 lbs of materials
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and social media; experience with or ability to learn Luminate/Convio software
  • Willing to perform other duties as assigned
