Job Description

BCS Allegient has a 35-year history of helping government, research, and private sector clients implement their programs and missions to achieve success. We offer a breadth of professional support services in the areas of business management, communications, systems engineering, analysis, mission execution, and organization performance. BCS Allegient is currently hiring for a Junior Program Analyst to join our team at the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C.


Salary range: $50K-$70K dependent on years of experience


Position Overview

The Junior Program Analyst will provide administrative and program support for a Department of Energy contract. This entry-level role is well-suited for a recent graduate or early-career professional with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

The successful candidate will assist with monitoring communications, maintaining accurate records, supporting data collection efforts, and ensuring program documentation is organized and accessible. This position plays a key role in supporting program operations and facilitating effective communication across stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage program email inboxes, ensuring timely logging and appropriate routing of communications
  • Log incoming and outgoing communications accurately into tracking systems or databases
  • Perform data mining and basic analysis to support program reporting and operational needs
  • Maintain organized records, files, and documentation in accordance with program requirements
  • Provide general administrative support, including scheduling, document preparation, and data entry
  • Assist with preparing summaries, trackers, and basic reports for program staff and leadership
  • Support compliance with program procedures by ensuring documentation is complete and up to date
  • Collaborate with team members to support day-to-day program operations
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or recent graduate (or equivalent experience)
  • 0-2 years of relevant professional or internship experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow established processes and work independently when needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting government programs or administrative operations
  • Familiarity with data tracking, databases, or document management systems
  • Experience working in a professional office or contract-based environment
