Job Description

De La Salle Academy is a private, non-sectarian school committed to providing quality education to academically talented yet economically disadvantaged boys and girls in grades six through eight. Located in the heart of Midtown, New York City, we take pride in serving a diverse community that upholds the values of leadership and community service. Our mission emphasizes the importance of empowering students from low-income families by developing the leaders of today and tomorrow. As we operate on a need-blind admissions policy, we rely on raising over 90% of our annual budget from sources outside of tuition. We are currently looking for a Remote Live Chat Specialist who will play a crucial role in communicating with prospective students and their families. This specialist will engage in dialogues that reflect our mission and values while providing timely assistance through our live chat platform. By ensuring a supportive and informative environment, the Live Chat Specialist will help facilitate smooth communication and assistance for individuals seeking to learn more about the unique educational opportunities that De La Salle Academy provides.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and respond to inquiries through the live chat system in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide accurate information regarding De La Salle Academy's admissions process, programs and resources.
  • Engage with prospective students and their families to address their questions and concerns effectively.
  • Maintain a friendly, supportive, and informative communication style that embodies the school's mission.
  • Track and document chat interactions for quality assurance and follow-up purposes.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure consistent messaging and information sharing.
  • Assist in developing and optimizing live chat scripts and FAQs to enhance user experience.
Location: Fully Remote

Salary: $19.70 - $23.55 per hour

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in customer service or chat support roles, ideally in the education sector.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a focus on clarity and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Familiarity with live chat tools and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a remote setting.
