Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse in our ambulatory practice, you will provide and coordinate nursing care in accordance with regulatory standards and Prisma Health's policies. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the health and wellness of pediatric patients.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver direct nursing care based on policies and protocols that respect patients’ unique needs, encompassing physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, and educational aspects.

  • Utilize specialized knowledge and skills in ambulatory care nursing to promote wellness and address health-related issues.

  • Assess patient needs and apply current nursing knowledge to create tailored care plans.

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following established nursing protocols.

  • Document patient care meticulously, including assessments, education, medication administration, and treatments, ensuring patient safety.

  • Effectively delegate tasks to other healthcare team members based on patient needs and their qualifications.

  • Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols while coordinating patient care.

  • Communicate patient conditions and concerns with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care.

  • Educate patients and families on self-care tasks post-visit, empowering them to take charge of their health.

  • Foster a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and their families.

  • Serve as a mentor to other team members and contribute to their professional growth.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing compliance training.

  • Utilize resources effectively, ensuring the safe and efficient use of supplies.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for all patients and staff.

  • Commit to personal professional development and continuing education.

  • May serve as a preceptor or participate in shared governance initiatives.

  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team goals.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

  • This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor or manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Associate degree in Nursing (ADN). BSN is preferred.

  • Experience - No prior experience required.

In Lieu Of

  • Will accept an RN diploma or certificate with a current RN compact/multistate license or a license to practice in the state of employment.

  • Current RN compact/multistate license or state license for RN practice required.
