Job Description:
As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape the development and future of the AME Manufacturing Test team. In this role you will innovate and solve problems of high ambiguity and high impact. You will drive design choices, trade-offs, priorities, and timelines that align with overall project goals. You will demonstrate exceptional technical expertise, and practical experience designing factory test solutions. You are data and metric driven and consistently strive for optimal performance even in resource-constrained situations. You will guide and inspire other engineers, participate in defining our engineering culture, and help to build a world class team.

A day in the life

As a Sr Manufacturing Test Engineer, you’ll be expected to:


  • Design and Develop test solutions and test-setup prototypes for new technologies

  • Work collaboratively with engineering and operations partners

  • Serve as a test lead on cross-functional projects with significant bottom-line impact

  • Ensure the quality and execution of our manufacturing test systems

  • Lead test design and drive test coverage reviews with engineering teams and CMs.

  • Proactively communicate technical information and status to broad, cross-functional teams via weekly updates

  • Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions

  • Understand system inter-dependencies and limitations

  • Travel to development and build sites in Seattle and Asia to support NPI activities.

  • Work with contract manufacturing test teams to ensure test line readiness for NPI build events.

Joining the AME Manufacturing Test team gives you the opportunity to:

  • Participate in the architecture, design, development and launch of some of the core product features for customers

  • Drive all the factory test coverage requirements and mass production testing.

  • Working collaboratively with MTM and MDE teams to converge on factory line layout.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading or contributing to multiple simultaneous product development efforts. You’ll strive for simplicity and demonstrate significant creativity and high judgment.

Basic Qualifications



  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

  • 7+ years of test development experience working directly within engineering teams and contract manufacturers.

  • Experience building and operating production systems or test framework and tools with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Labview or other related language.

  • -Experience in test methodologies for RF, Wireless and GPS designs.

  • Knowledge of factory and test best practices including systems development, process control, vendor engagement, and test operations.

  • Understanding of rapid product development lifecycles and system development best practices.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent

  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production

  • Experience with the project management of technical projects

  • RF test development experience

  • Sharp analytical abilities and proven test design skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience in electronics development lifecycles and embedded software development

  • Experience with large-scale data analytics and data warehousing.

  • Experience and detailed technical knowledge of test platforms and methodologies for test process control (6 sigma/SPC)

 

 

Salary Range: $135,000-$155,000/K

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
