Overview Emerging Store Manager responsible for supervising customer service associates and designated hitters; manages front end operations and contributes to overall Pharmacy and Retail Store operations. Supports Store Manager with the operation of the store, works alternate schedules with minimal overlap, and assumes responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities Engage customers and patients by greeting them and assisting with products and services. Resolve customer complaints promptly and model customer service best practices. Monitor customer service performance, coach and train the team, and develop plans for improvements in front-end and pharmacy operations. Empower team members to resolve issues and build loyalty. Lead and manage store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline of direct reports to achieve company deliverables. Supervise store operations: assign daily activities, delegate tasks, manage opening/closing shifts, approve time records, and handle scheduling conflicts to ensure coverage. Collaborate with external partners to support store initiatives and community outreach opportunities; use data and team input to make fact-based decisions and monitor impact. Supervise inventory (front end and pharmacy), execute price updates, analyze trends, and train staff on inventory procedures; ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and presentable appearance; manage repairs and emergencies; ensure knowledge of all computer and technology systems. Ensure compliance with laws and company policies, including handling of alcohol, tobacco, fresh food, and pharmacy products. Provide leadership for business performance management and decision-making; analyze financial data and KPIs to drive store improvements and growth initiatives. Support Pharmacy operations during busy periods as needed. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, or satisfactorily completed Walgreens Community Internship Program, or High School Diploma/GED with two years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated leadership abilities, strong ethics, self-motivation, and excellent communication and business acumen. Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of ESM start date. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekends; willingness to relocate if promoted to Store Manager; ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring area. Ability to learn and operate all relevant computer and technology systems. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Internal candidates: management experience supervising others, managing and assigning work, and experience across front-end and pharmacy.
